This story slam series is presented regularly around a different theme at each event. A winner is declared at each slam and then invited to participate at the Grand Story Slam at the end of the year. Workshops are hosted between slam events for those interested in developing their stories with guidance from coLAB Arts.
 Choreographers are commissioned to explore new ideas about movement and dance in working directly with local social advocacy organizations and their constituencies.
 Teams of writers, directors, and musicians are tasked with creating a new 15-minute musical in one weekend in response to a provided theme and challenged with incorporating random props. The event is presented with the Hub City Music Festival and proceeds are donated to Elijah’s Promise.
 A platform for new play development and creative engagement that responds to local community and public issues with readings of new work coupled with issue expert panel discussions.
 Teams of writers and illustrators are tasked with creating new 24-page comic books in 24 hours in response to a social justice theme. Comic books are scanned and presented digitally via projector, and given voice by actors and underscored with newly commissioned music to create a compelling live performance.
 New public sculpture works are commissioned and created from refuse collected during local stream clean ups with the Lower Raritan Watershed Partnership. These sculptures create greater awareness of our watershed and the need for community involvement to restore its health.
 New Brunswick Cultural Center and coLAB Arts produce stART, or Share the Art, as an access program for regional high school students to attend performing arts events in New Brunswick, mingle with other area students, and meet professional artists and arts administrators.
 coLAB Arts’ annual event is an ambitious site-specific performance piece, that is newly designed every year in response to the social justice work of the organization, and the environment of its installation. In 2015, coLAB Arts presented  Behind the Moon, Beyond the Rain , an adaptation of  The Wizard of Oz  that featured original work from coLAB Arts artists responding to the film, scene-by-scene. 2016’s event was  A Watershed Moment , a performative ritual intended to reconnect attendees with the Raritan River, and featured Rock Dance Collective, with original dance performance on land and on the river, supported with musical performance by The Secret Opera.
