A young couple can’t have a baby of their own, so when a machine gun appears at their doorstep dressed in baby clothes, they are willing to set aside all doubts and raise it as their own.
Baby Boom is a play about a couple that tests their community’s idea of accepting diversity when they choose to adopt a machine gun as their baby. But it is also about people who choose their reality. It is about what happens when five people’s perceptions of reality collide. What happens when we each have a picture of the way we want our world to be, and the pictures others have don’t match ours?
Cast includes Julie Cotton, Louis Wells and Francesca Day; crew is Jamie Bruno, set designer, and David Rosenthal, stage manager.Baby Boom is being presented as part of Breakthrough Arts Fest in repertory with Carrie Louise Nutt’s Touch.
